Gross cost uses the 2026-Q3 certificate price of €82.32. It is before the free allocation adjustment and any carbon price paid abroad, so the amount owed is usually lower.
How the mark-up works
For goods in the cement, iron and steel, aluminium and hydrogen sectors, the default value for total emissions is increased by 10 % in 2026, 20 % in 2027 and 30 % from 2028. For fertilisers the mark-up is 1 % from 2026. That makes real supplier data worth more every year.
CBAM certificate price
One certificate covers one tonne of CO2e. The latest published price is €82.32 for 2026-Q3. Certificates go on sale from 1 February 2027, and the first annual declaration is due by 30 September 2027. The 2026-Q4 price is expected on 4 January 2027.
